Hello everyone! My name is Marc Gibbons. I’m a small town farm boy who grew up in rural Iowa. I am an easygoing, good-natured christian who loves my dog, animals, and my pickup truck parked next to the lake with a line out on the weekends. My drug addiction and all that goes with that has led me to prison again but I have confidence in the future I have lacked in the past. I grew up drawing Garfield in grade school and I have grown since. Terry Redlin inspired me for years being one of my favorite artists, now one among several inspirations. Mainly my mediums have been graphite and ink. I have just recently moved into exploring watercolor and acrylic and I really enjoy painting. I have not really found my own style of art but I have come a long way in my fantasy, contemporary and realist artwork. Detail is something that I consider to be crucial to great art and so I have been taking time lately to make sure that I have a variety of textures and small details at my disposal. Art to me is not just an expression of self and emotions, it’s therapy. I’m able to slow my thoughts and think about things that are going on in life. Art is a great stress reliever if you can utilize it. .
