🖋 Artist's bio

“My story isn’t over, and although so far my life has been pretty dark, I refuse to stay in the dark. I was raised by my mother; my father spent, and will probably continue to spend, most of his life in jail. A lot of people expect I’ll follow in his footsteps. He wasn’t a presence in my life, except for a three-month period that I lived with him when I was 15 years old. During that time I was sexually, physically, and emotionally abused. I spent a lot of that time being introduced to various drugs, all of which I am sober of, and have been for four years. I was always an outcast, never fit in at school, lacked social skills, and was bullied for it. Art has been my pillar, my friend, the lens through which I can see the light in the darkest time. Art is the only way I know how to express myself. Through art, I plan to set myself on a separate path than what my father has taken. I refuse to hurt people and wallow in darkness, as he has most of his life. I want to help people see the beauty in life, specifically troubled youth. Art saved me from darkness, and although I’m currently in prison, I have plans to share the revealing lens I’ve found with others. I want to show angry kids, like how I used to be, how to express themselves onto paper or canvas...people in general, not just kids. Maybe getting in this book will be the breakthrough I need to get my name out there.”.
