"I have taken much for granted in my life, withstanding amongst them my potential that I wasted and doubted. Art has always been an escape for me but now I want it to be a purpose. Art is what you, as the viewer, make of it; yet it is also what you, as the creator, make."

✑ Artist's bio
In this lifetime I am known as ANDREA DUSHA, which means “courageous soul”, something I find rather befitting. I am 31 years of age, from southwestern Pennsylvania. I have been incarcerated for approximately five years, and currently reside at SCS Muncy on a third degree murder conviction. I have taken much for granted in my life, withstanding amongst them my potential that I wasted and doubted. Art has always been an escape for me but now I want it to be a purpose. Art is what you, as the viewer, make of it; yet it is also what you, as the creator, make. The creative process in my relation is often akin to what I envision a holy experience must be, all the while in the search for immortality. Art is a piece of you that you leave behind, your mark on the world even before you depart it. Leaving traces of myself, my DNA (blood and spit), into my work makes it become all the more personal to me. Art mimics the duality of everything - mental with physical, conscious and unconscious, reason and emotion, order amidst chaos, love amongst hate, a constant battle between life and death. One cannot exist without the other..
